On my local water i am having trouble with a group of carp that i keep seeing. There is a tiny bay on this lake where i always see carp. Some are sat still and some swim around playing with each other. Every time i put a bait in they either spook or completly ignore it. I have tried small pva bags of pellets and boilies or just small single hookbaits. I once got a bite when i got the float rod out with a small 4mm pellet. Next time i might bring some maggots or worms with me and get the float rod out again. Does anyone have any suggestions i would be really pleased if you could help. |

instead of casting out your hookbait straight away you might want to try sort of semi spooking them with abit of bait like sweetcorn or pellet or something small like that ... usualy if you spook fish out by putting bait in they will return soon .. but while there gone it gives you time to put your rig out ,then they return then you catch one Very Happy well thats the plan but with fishing it never goes to plan lol |

sounds like a hard water![]() dont cast directly into swim ,spook fish out of swim by introducing a couple of single hook baits .then cast on the edge of swim and hope they will take the bait .failing that like you said maggots or worm. what ever you are using ,it helps if you are you 100%confident in the bait |
